Angel, owner of Sixes Pit Bicycle Shop, knows what he's doing when it comes to getting people out on bikes and how to throw one heck of a demo day. If you follow us on Facebook, you may have noticed we like to brag about these guys--but how could we not? I mean.. they head to the trails in a '64 Impala that can easily haul six bikes.
Carl and I had the pleasure of meeting Angel and one of his mechanics, Buli, while we were out at Cyclofest last fall. We had an instant connection with them, and sent them back to Canton, GA with a few Oranges.
Meet the Guys:
Angel: Leader of the pack, Angel started Sixes Pit out of a trailer that he would bring to the trailhead at Blankets Creek and "setup shop". Now, his retail location is less than 3 miles away from 'Blankets' which is the busiest trail system in Georgia. To say the least, he's come a far way since day one but still remains as humble and eager as he was at the start.
Emmett: The one with the beard and who knows a little bit about a lot of things. Like, seriously, this guy can pick your brain and hit you up with some knowledge all while keeping his main attention on tuning your bike (which he's been doing since 2013). Sadly he wasn't with us for Cyclofest, but we had the chance to meet him during our demo day in Georgia this past Spring.
Buli: Known for his insane wheel builds (have you seen my beauties? #bulitbuilt). Buli has been wrenching for about 8 years now, but he started really honing the wheelbuilding craft about 5-6 years ago and has done a fantastic job building a name for himself in the MTB community. All #bulibuilt wheels come with a True for Life guarantee! He's also built himself up a pretty insane Orange Alpine 6 (You may have seen it featured on VitalMTB as the Bike of the Day recently)
Mocha.Honorable Mention. The shop dog and Buli's main (and only?) woman.
PSA: Every shop needs a shop dog.
Have I mentioned these guys put together some awesome videos, also? Yeah. They are something to brag about. Watch now to learn more about this killer three-man team, and make sure to check them out if you're ever in the Atlanta area. (They are on the list for the 20 Best Atlanta Bicycle Repair Shops!)
And since you're all so curious, here's my #bulibuilt wheel set.
