Introduced as the newest bike in the Surly lineup, the Surly Preamble offers cyclists a no-nonsense, do-it-all bike for everyday use. Whether you are looking for a bike to get you to and from work, or a light duty bike for some road touring, the Preamble fits a variety of uses. In a world of flashy builds and expensive price tags, the Surly Preamble gives you everything you need, and nothing you don’t.

The Preamble features the same Surly Chromoly Natch steel frame and fork that Surly is known for. Surly says to think of the Preamble as the on-road, less rowdy brother to the Bridge Club, with both models featuring the same rear dropouts and similar styling. What sets the two apart is the Preamble features a lighter-weight frame that allows the bike to provide a different ride characteristic to the Bridge Club.

The Surly Preamble will feature two build options, one with flat and the other featuring drop bars, and is compatible with 1X and 2X drivetrains. Fitting riders from 5’0” to 6’7”, there will be no issue with finding a size that fits best, and with clearance options for 700c x 41mm tires, the Preamble has the basics covered.

Starting at just $899, the Preamble is an excellent option for anyone looking to get into riding.
